Say hello to Kristin

This bubbly and lovely lady started with us just over a year ago. We were then looking for someone for our finance department. Team Billing needed a head who was fond of routines and efficiency and with a keen eye for detail.

Kristin, who was born and raised just half an hour from our head office in Rygge, and today lives fifteen minutes away, applied for the vacant position with us - and it was a perfect match! Now she sits in an office with a view of the field on the farm here in Rygge, and she is enjoying herself.

What is the best thing about working with finance and billing?

- I'm very happy with routines in life in general, so it's no surprise that routines at work also work well for me, says Kristin via Teams.

From trade to IT

Kristin previously worked at ASKO, and has extensive experience from the trade industry. IT is not that different, but much of what we do is digital products rather than more tangible goods. That Kristin would end up here was a bit of a coincidence. Regardless of the industry, she works to bring the economic language she works with every day down to earth again:

- Not everyone understands the language of invoices or the words and meaning of finance, so that's where I come in. My goal is to get even more people to understand the difficult words so that it doesn't feel so foreign the next time.

She has studied economics since her studies. At the old agricultural school in Ås, which is now called NMBU (Norwegian University of Environmental and Biosciences), she studied Economics and Administration. She ended up with a bachelor's in the subject, and she hasn't looked back since.

- I have worked on various things along the way, but what I have done most is invoice checks and customer service. IN Braathe I also act as a kind of customer service for our people in sales. They need answers because the customer needs answers. So then I become an important link in understanding and communication with customers.

One of Kristin's most important tasks here with us is to create interdisciplinary and mutual understanding internally - and to help make our systems play together in the best possible way. In addition, she will build and strengthen her team at Billing so that together they can deliver the best possible, both internally and to customers.

Did you know you wanted to work in finance?

- In no way. I took the dance course at VGS, and had envisioned a completely different direction. It was probably the dreamer in me who chose the line that time, says Kristin with a sly smile.

Reason prevailed, and it was the search for something safe and stable that made Kristin choose a bachelor's degree in Economics and Administration. It is a bachelor's degree that is general and can work in many different places in an organisation. We think it was a wise choice, especially when we can take advantage of it here!

No question is stupid Braathe

A mantra we have internally is that everyone should be able to ask questions about big and small things. Kristin was able to make use of that from the start.

- I like when there is a low threshold for asking about things, and in the IT world it really should be. IN Braathe is that exactly how it is. I have asked so many questions this year.

Understanding everything is impossible, but understanding connections is what people in economics depend on. That way, they can explain it further with their perspective in hindsight. For Kristin, it has meant a lot to be able to ask and thus develop.

What is your impression of the people here?

- It's a very open group Braathe, and I work with incredibly talented people. We enjoy ourselves every single day!

Employee of the Year 2023

It must be mentioned that Kristin has also made an impression on us. We got to mark that then Braathe Unite went out of business in August. Together with all our people gathered for a weekend full of professional content and social days. It was also time to award the Employee of the Year. It was Kristin who walked away with the victory. Congratulations again, Kristin!
