Why do you have to have a plan for everyday IT?

What we see is that more and more companies are experiencing growth. It's fantastic and something we're rooting for. Unfortunately, growth often comes with some nasty growing pains that are not addressed early enough. Therefore, we will go through what you must have a plan for.

Did you start up 5-6 years ago, set up some email accounts and start saving in several places? For a solo entrepreneur, it's fine. If you are more than 10 people, it is no longer good enough. Why? Because more people means more data to handle, more equipment that needs the internet, a greater risk of information going astray - and not least: a more attractive target for digital attacks.

Taking a check with yourself is therefore worth its weight in gold. Do we have control over where our data is stored? Is everyone careful which network they connect to? If no, then we recommend reading on.

The company MUST have this

Here is what we consider a standard, a Norwegian company must have a plan for:

  • Secure storage of data and routines for storage
  • Good interaction tools that talk seamlessly together
  • Equipment that builds on top of the interaction tools
  • Internet that is stable, safe and easy

For the company that started with one person, but now has 30 people - then storage services that do not ensure good enough security or where you do not have control over what is located where are not sufficient. That's why we recommend taking action now!

What do we mean by each point?

  • Secure storage of data and routines for storage

Secure storage is very important and the cloud is your best friend, but it has to be the right cloud. Individual services that are actually designed for private individuals are not good enough for a business. You should use professional actors who have the capacity to ensure that passwords do not go astray. We recommend our service, 365 Arbeidsplass. Then you get double up for sure. Microsoft works to keep you safe - and so do we. Because security is so important, security on the devices is also important. PC operation is included in our service. If you get good routines for storing data at the top, we're a long way off.

  • Good interaction tools that talk together

A tool should be able to talk to each other. Sharing, collaborating and editing with several people in the same document is a minimum when you work in a workplace with more than 1 person. Teams, Sharepoint, OneDrive and Outlook can ensure that.

  • Equipment that builds on top of the interaction tools

Do you use PCs that were bought at the start when the costs had to be kept low? This can lead to longer working days.

  • Internet that is stable, safe and easy

Most people can get hold of the Internet, but many do not know how to use settings that contribute to a safer everyday life. Nor how much secure internet means!

The basic package we recommend for you under 50 employees:

  1. The journey to the cloud.
  2. 365 Workplace.
  3. Device as a Service.
  4. Network as a service.

Bonus: Read through our safety articles, then you will get even more tips on what you as employees should do and how the services can contribute to a higher degree of security internally.

All these services are designed for you who aim for growth in both the bottom line and in the number of employees. The services also have predictable monthly prices that mean you don't get any nasty surprises.

Whether you have 5, 10 or 50 employees, it is very important to check with yourself on the IT front. Both for the well-being of the company, but also for employees. Many people may be blind as to which standard the equipment should have or which of you should wear the involuntary IT hat.
