Risk picture of the year

The most important points in this year's report are of course strongly affected by a pandemic and the fact that many Norwegians were forcibly relocated to home offices in all variants, some less secure than others. Covid-19 meant that many of us had to turn the tables and thus move the PC home. Unfortunately, too, for many, large parts of the digital security network also disappeared in the same sling. Encrypted workplace-adapted networks, secure printers, and seamless solutions suddenly became challenging to maintain. The compensation was alternative and temporary solutions that had to be used to get the job done.

Have you gained control of the hybrid office?

For some, it probably had consequences, but as NSM itself mentions, IP addresses were scanned during the year in connection with Microsoft Exchange's security holes. It potentially prevented many attacks thanks to a higher degree of oversight on the part of NSM. We also announced the security holes of the Microsoft Exchange in March. Read about it here.

Stay up to date, right?

We believe that for most industries, it is very important to stay up to date on their risk picture in their industry. Many underestimate how attractive they are in the face of actors behind attacks, often with very advanced methods of getting into precisely those they have as their favorite target. One way to stay up to date is to map your own risk picture. Either alone or with experts. Not sure how to do it? We can help you.

We applaud the work of the National Security Authority and will continue to have a strong focus on digital security in the future. Remember that digital security should be high on the agenda all year round, 24/7/365. Even though October is the month when we as a society focus on the security picture, it does not mean that someone with evil intentions refrains from launching their attacks in any of the other 11 months of the year. And, the best security measures are those that are continuously followed up, adapt to threats in perpetual change and thus prepare you as best we can. Do you want to read the report yourself?
