What would you choose?

If you could freely choose which solution you would have in your workplace - what would you have chosen? There have already been several reports on the field with inquiries about who will use the home office even after the pandemic has said thank you and goodbye. According to data from McKinsey & Company, there is a big difference in the answers from workers pre-covid and "post"-covid.

In short, McKinsey & Co shares that employees are more concerned with balance, the freedom to choose for themselves and adapt everyday life themselves. In addition, employees are concerned with clear guidelines for the use of offices and home offices, as well as good routines for collaboration and remote work in groups.

The interest in a good hybrid solution between office and home office has thus become more important than before worldwide. And we also see tendencies towards the same thoughts in the Norwegian business community. We believe this will be discussed more and more throughout the autumn.

What is the best solution? We believe it lies with our employees. We believe and hope that many employers in the future will take the pace of what employees want in the time to come to ensure a good workflow and well-being. - Braathe Gruppen

A new type of recruitment

For some, it has not only become more important, but more of a requirement for new employers out there. Thanks to the pandemic, it has been proven that you do not necessarily have to move to start your dream job. The expectations of employers have thus changed. Many people seek more flexibility when it comes to geographical affiliation. It will be expected to see if employers manage to meet those expectations.

We ourselves are proud that even before the pandemic we worked remotely. With locations like Rygge, Oslo, Kongsberg, Skien, Gran, Mo i Rana, Tromsø and Bodø, we have secured good points along our elongated country that we have worked across for a while. We see that where you sit has nothing to do with the work we do. But we see that geography is not the only thing that has been discovered during the pandemic, many are hunting for something more.

The balance in everyday life

It is no secret that many are looking for a way to find the balance between work and leisure. In our century, there is no time to lose, and the balance can become something fleeting we all want, but which few of us achieve. The pandemic has also shown us a bit of this - that sometimes you have to calm down and just accept a slower pace.

With closed cities, restaurants and leisure activities, we have had to embrace a slightly slower everyday life. The job has been something you have to seek out in the kitchen, in the living room on a newly purchased desk or perhaps a guest room that was suddenly used more than before. The journey to and from work has been cut, a lot of hustle and bustle has been cut, and everyday life has proven to work at its best nonetheless. Therefore, we see that how we choose to resolve the office debate can also have an impact on this balance.

So what is the best solution?

We believe it lies with our employees. We believe and hope that many employers in the future will take the pace of what employees want in the time to come to ensure a good workflow and well-being.
