The power of interaction
The word synergy is, first of all, an incredibly nice word! Not only has the word, interaction, become the new IT word. It has also been shown to mean a lot lately. The word will become all the more important in the future when we get many hybrid office solutions around the world.
We have now gone from being fully digital to feeling the smell of the office again, fresh coffee and bus trips to and from. At the same time, many of us will have the opportunity to choose a little ourselves. Should or should not be in the office today? Many employers like to make that decision based on what the day looks like.
When we get to choose for ourselves in this way, it gives a fantastic freedom, but it can go beyond the power of interaction. We will therefore talk a little about it. As an IT supplier, we are of course concerned with the tools to be used, but we are also concerned with the aspects surrounding it, the tools are only part of the cake. If we consider the whole cake, it consists of both equipment, digital meeting culture, management, training and much more. And we believe that it is the whole cake that creates the famous power of interaction.
Conscious use
What we see is that the knowledge in the use of tools is very improved after the pandemic, but we miss a more conscious thought about the use. The digital use, conversations and the unwritten rules have created an internal, digital culture. And we know what culture entails? It brings with it more than you think. We believe this can delay and prevent the power of interaction from playing out in full. Often because meetings can be rigid, or because someone is not comfortable speaking at all times. This is where the power can disappear.
So what do we think is the best way to create power? We believe this means several things: good equipment (YES!), Clear norms and rules for how the meetings are to take place, clear management and open communication. And not least, opening up to social points both once and several times during a working day.
What we mean when we mention social points is simply that you get to catch up on the chat that was previously taken at the coffee machine. This conversation can quickly fade away when not everyone shows up at the office on the same days or because the meetings are hybrid. We believe it is important to use interaction tools both for business, but also for coffee talk. So arrange a hassle meeting on Teams, invite to a loose chat before the hybrid meeting starts and do not let the social points disappear. They are such an important part of our interaction, and play a strong role in the power we have both alone and as a team.
