Today's worries are becoming more and more numerous

Like many businesses, we also have the electricity bill, interest and new expenses in mind. Many people are dreading the next six months and wondering how to solve additional costs in the budget that have suddenly increased or will increase.

At the same time, many are aware of the digital threat we face. People with evil intentions, who sit behind a screen with some internet, have become one of our worst enemies. Then it is all the more important that we facilitate healthy and sustainable growth. On that team, you should have a digitized organisation. Let us explain why.

Win-win with digitalisation

We know that renewal and digitization can make the big difference for a business in Norway. Let us explain why: Digitization is about adopting new and technological solutions that streamline processes and can change everyday digital work. For companies in the SME segment, this is demanding. Not everyone has their own IT people, or the capacity to carry out digitization processes. We understand that. Therefore, we recommend 1) setting aside time for such a process and 2) not going into that process alone.

Why should you digitize your organization?

1. You are better equipped to deal with unpredictable events.

By that we mean events such as: Cyber attacks, loss of data or a new pandemic that places sudden and new demands on how we all get our tasks done. That's because a formal process helps you map out your needs and the risks your business faces. Together with experts, you can set up a list of measures to remove and minimize risks where possible.

2. Your employees are automatically tryggere online.

By clearing out tools bought because you had to fix something or just needed a place to store things, you can cut and add with more thoughts in your head. Did you know e.g. that buying in certain solutions makes it automatic, e.gryggere for your employees to travel in their digital working day? Then we mean services such as 365 Workplace, Desktop in the Cloud, managed services and Network as a service on the team.

3. With greater expectations in sustainability, your purchases will affect your sustainability work.

Sustainability work must take place at all stages, including with your suppliers. It is therefore important to use IT suppliers who take sustainability seriously and help you become more sustainable. Does today's supplier do that?

We do as much as possible to achieve our sustainability goals, and you can read more about that on our site: Sustainable IT.

4. You can save electricity, and thus money.

By adding data storage and your backup to our free cooling system, you are helping to reduce your footprint while avoiding a higher electricity bill.

We have built a free-cooling system based on ground cooling, and have 15 km of cooling loops under the ground at our head office at Rygge. It is therefore more environmentally efficient cooling of servers that store insane amounts of data.

5. Digitization removes the need for all office space.

Do you also operate free seating? No one refurbishing their offices today wants a desk for every single person. It will only become dust. Having a conscious relationship with how your people use their digital tools is worth its weight in gold for physical purchases as well. How much space do you really need? And must you have x number of desks? It is not certain. A formal digitization process will lead to discussions in this part of the organization as well. The need should be met, but perhaps such a discussion might surprise you?

6. A future-oriented infrastructure will make you more competitive.

Fewer and fewer use physical archive systems. We are very happy about that. It is not safe and it is not easy to maneuver in. With cloud storage and a digital infrastructure that everyone is trained in, you can become a well-oiled machine with steel control over all files, all employees, all access and all potential gaps. An infrastructure that actually matches what you work with internally. Use private clouds, public clouds, or both. That way, you can secure your data in several ways, employees can access it from anywhere and the workflow creates processes that customers also want to participate in.

7. You eliminate your biggest enemy: IT incompetence.

Is IT incompetence your unknown enemy? We know very well who she is. We don't want everyone to be IT experts, but we want all employees to be able to maneuver in their digital tools without stepping on scary bumps. Having a foundation of IT knowledge is business-critical. In small to medium-sized companies, we see a large gap in competence. This leads to a downgrading of the security level, poor routines for storing data, and a lack of training in new tools. You can do something about this, do your employees e.grygge in his everyday life.
