Think like a hacker

A hacker has one goal: personal gain. So even if you don't see the value of being hacked or your manager doesn't see the point of securing the systems, you could be in for a terrible surprise. The hackers know that if they encrypt all of your data, you're just weeks or months away from bankruptcy. Desperate times can lead to desperate measures, which is why there are big dark figures on how many people pay the hackers to get their data back.

If you think like a hacker, you will quickly see where the risk lies with you: What can gain value with us? Are there product drawings, recipes, money in the account? Or is it software, the app or the website?

Hackers use people to get what they want done. The figures say that 82% of digital attacks (unfortunately) get through, as a result of human error. Human error, such as us clicking on links, logging in with usernames and passwords on fake websites or otherwise tricking us into giving up information we would otherwise keep close to our chest. This means that you and your colleagues are the biggest risk factor in the business. Learning the hackers' dirty tricks is therefore essential for you to prevent any attack sent your way.

To train you to think like a hacker, we use a training tool that has collected all the dirty tricks in the book. There are many tricks you've heard about before, but there may be more surprises. Pistachio (formerly CYBR) has gathered all knowledge about attack attempts in one and the same platform so that you can practice how to recognize an attack. And not only that, but Pistachio also sends simulated attacks directly to your inbox. Then you get to experience first-hand what it's like to receive emails that should never have entered your inbox.

Simulated attacks straight to the inbox

We strongly believe in the power of learning while doing. Or "learning by doing" as they say in English. With Pistachio, you get just that. When you least expect it, there may be an email in your inbox. It is simulated and made from Pistachio, which means it is not dangerous. What it will test is whether you recognize things such as a fake email address, a strange link or whether you willingly click in and enter a few usernames and passwords in one fell swoop.

Each time you respond to the email, Pistachio will record how good you are at recognizing an attack. They will use this further to create new attack methods. They vary between easy, medium and hard. This means that if you recognize attacks several times, Pistachio moves on and you will have completely new attempts to sharpen yourself up.

Learn while working with Pistachio

If you have the service Digital Workplace with us you have the opportunity to activate Pistachio completely free of charge. Perhaps you have heard of this training platform before? We have written quite a bit about them, but then they went under the name CYBR.

Here you can read even more about Psitachio: Safety training with Pistachio. The CYBR platform has now become pistachio, where former CYBR Teach is combined with CYBR Breach. So that your users get even better customized training runs, because no two users are exactly the same. Some understand and think about what others do not, and vice versa.

With the new service, Pistachio, the race is adapted to the individual user's level, and tightens the "difficulty" as your users become better at exposing the simulated attacks. Everything comes straight to the inbox, and users don't have to visit a training portal on their own. This helps ensure that time constraints do not affect how much training your people receive per week. Learning and training are fully integrated into everyday work tasks. The content is also text-based, and the training course can be quickly adapted to new attack variants, so that your users receive relevant training for the current threat picture we have in 2024.
