Dismal numbers 

Numbers don't lie. They show that 90% of all safety incidents occur due to human error. Not only that, but 45% of employees admit that they have clicked on links in phishing emails. I've probably done it, Mohammed across the hall has probably done it and poor Katrine on the 5th floor has also done it.

We are many. And we are everywhere. In all industries and in all corners of Norway. We should not be ashamed of that. Because these errors have often occurred because of lack of knowledge. Knowledge comes through learning and learning. That is why we are putting extra emphasis on it going forward. This way we can prevent cyber attacks to a greater extent.

Everything can be learned, including digital security

A healthy security culture is essential to prevent attacks. The figures above are a clear sign that we, as employees, can be a significant part of the company's first-line defence. But it doesn't happen overnight. We have to start somewhere. 

Safety starts with prevention. That's why we want you to ask yourself: Do you know the characteristics of fraud through e-mail or SMS? If the answer is a resounding YES, then you are already on the right track. But if the answer is NO, then it's time for training.

  • Include safety in the onboarding, in the Monday meetings and in all development conversations. Let digital security become part of everyday things, not something you talk about once every six months.
