Create safe habits

Keeping your mobile phone safe is really stressful these days. Therefore, we have collected the most important points that you should have in place. Make them part of your habits and you'll be safer than most.

This article is great both for you who work a lot from your mobile phone, but also for young people who finally decide their own screen time. Therefore, share the article with those you want. All the tips are things you can do yourself to have a safer everyday life on your mobile!

1. Activate touch ID and Face ID on all devices

Why? Because it cannot be stolen like a PIN code. Your face is unique and with today's technology, it makes your mobile phone extra secure. If you unexpectedly have to enter your PIN, try to hide it from others.

2. Update your phone when the notification appears - don't delay!

All mobile phones that exist today have their own operating systems. Carrying out the update when the supplier releases it is very important. That's because they improve and patch security holes every single day, and often the updates don't just include new emojis. Have alerts so you can update the same day the update is released from your provider. Not sure if you've done it? Check your settings on your mobile and search for "update".

3. Do not put down your mobile phone or leave it out of sight

Just like with your drink on the town, you shouldn't leave your mobile phone. At home it is of course safe, but in cafes, the beach, the office desk (yes, actually) or other public places, you open yourself up to other people tampering with it. If they also have your PIN code from before, then you are extra vulnerable. Take it with you!

4. Back up what you can

Connect your mobile to a cloud you trust. If all your information is stored in the cloud, you are extra safe in case something happens and the accident is out of the way first. Then you can still access your photos or other things despite the fact that the mobile phone has been lost.

5. Don't connect to Wifi you don't know

We have written about this before, but we think it is worth mentioning again! Only connect to wifi you trust. The reason you shouldn't is because malicious people can create multiple "natural" wifi names for you to connect to, but only to steal your data. All this can happen without you taking it with you.

NOTE: This also applies to places where it seems safe. Like for example. the airport, well-known coffee shops and the hotel you are staying at. Use your own mobile network as far as you can.

6. Only connect Bluetooth to devices you trust

Bluetooth also makes it possible to steal your data. It is the same structure as with a Wifi access. Make sure you know which speaker you're connecting to, and don't connect to the rental car in a hurry. Suddenly, entire phone lists are left behind without you realizing it.

7. Do an app clean once a month and check access

All apps request access to various information from you. Most people will connect via Facebook or your email, but not everyone needs all the information. Make sure you carefully read the choices that appear when you download a brand new app and make up your mind about what's there.

Once a month, it's also good to check: DO I HAVE to keep this app fixed on my phone? Most likely not. Clean up the apps you don't need and feel free to turn off the notifications at the same time. We all need a bit of mobile freedom.

There were seven quick tips from us! These tips are golden to fix in the coming week so that you are extra safe before your summer holiday, but the tips apply all year round. Feel free to advise those you know who are not clear about good habits for secure mobile phones!
