In our internal survey, much indicates that the proportion who want to use home office in the future will increase. And then it is important to have the right equipment. Lying on the couch with your laptop on your lap is probably not good for your body, soul or working method. If companies increasingly approve the use of home office, it is also important to have a dialogue about what kind of equipment is needed.

We have a chat with Joachim Bremseth, Product Sales Manager i Braathe Gruppen, about what is important to think about when choosing equipment that can fit both in the office and at the home office.

Choose a PC that suits your needs
When a customer comes to me and asks which PC to choose, it is first and foremost important to hear what they are going to use it for. If you are a lot on the go, it goes without saying that it can be great with a laptop. If you use heavier programs, you will need more powerful input than if you only work with mail, document processing and surfing. For a customer who needs a good machine that can keep track of the tasks and needs of the company, I recommend Dell Latitude 5400. It offers many features for productivity and enterprise security, and it also has superior battery life, compact dimensions, and light weight suitable for travel.

How big should the screen be?
With 14 inches, the Dell Latitude 5400 is well suited for work while traveling. For use in office or home office, I would definitely recommend an external form as well. Here it depends on how much space you have, but personally I prefer one large screen, rather than several small ones. A good monitor I can recommend for the office is its Dell UltraSharp 34 curved USB-C display. This is a very popular display. Today, there are also good software that allows you to easily organize the content on the screen, such as Dell Display Manager. If you have limited space, for example in the home office, this can 27 inch screen be a good alternative.

Connection plays a big role
Finally, I would like to mention that connecting PC and monitor plays a big role in the experience. Getting in the office or home office, and only having to plug in one cable, is a big advantage. Many monitors today come with built-in usb-c power delivery, but if your monitor does not have this, I would highly recommend a docking. It works so that you connect everything from the cables to the dock, so when you get to the office, you only need to plug in one cable. Through the docking you then connect to all the extras and necessities, such as webcam, network, headset, keypad, monitor and power.
