Individuals can make a difference

In 2022, we collected as much data as we could in places we, Braathe- the people, created emissions. With 10 different locations and over 180 employees, it is demanding, but not impossible, to keep emissions down. Our accounting covers both direct and indirect emissions. These are numbers that matter - and we are happy that we can both learn from them and adjust ourselves accordingly.

The figures also show that each and every one of us can make a difference. And through good routines, it is easier as employees to make environmentally friendly choices.

Examples of things we already do:

  • We are actively working to reduce the number of trips and increase the proportion of digital meetings.
  • We have set specific goals for our company cars. 80% of the car fleet in 2020 were environmentally friendly cars, and we have a strong ambition to increase the proportion of electric cars.
  • We avoid purchases that create unnecessary waste. By borrowing or renting, we do not have to throw away what we cannot reuse or store.
  • We choose goods with less impact on the environment, resource use, energy use, waste and the use of chemicals that are harmful to health and the environment. The eco-label? Hurray!
  • Every year, the sorting rate increases at all our locations and thus we reduce our total amount of waste in line with our environmental policy.
  • We are conscious of reducing the amount of paper and manual operations by increasing the use of electronic processes.
  • We will contribute to less food waste in our own canteen and at all our branch offices.

We are proud of this list of measures, but we know that it could well be extended. That's why we're always looking for ways to make it better. Documenting your own climate emissions is a good start. Through the climate account, it will be even easier to measure progress in the coming years. Want to take a look at it? Read our climate report here: Braathes climate account for 2022

As a technology company, we are at the forefront of digital transformation. It also means that the same solutions we sell to our customers are solutions that are already well used in our offices. We want solutions that are energy and resource efficient.

It should be easy to choose sustainable

IT changes every day and that also means that sustainable IT changes just as quickly. With each passing day, something new appears on the IT market and with each company that digitises, Norwegian companies become more sustainable. We follow these changes closely. This allows us to adapt our solutions and our services throughout. That way, they can be as green as possible that week, that month or that year. So we understand that it may sound a bit scary, but we believe it is the only way to build the future for the coming generations. We must take responsibility for what is happening right now and not postpone measures until sometime in the future.

This means that our customers can be sure that we ensure the greenest possible journey for the equipment you have ordered, we help you with recycling when you have finished with it. We also take care of everything in between through our "as a Service" services. You can rent both equipment and networks through us so that we avoid frequent upgrades or downgrades if major changes occur in the business or if the equipment fleet gets out of control. Nobody wants a fully functioning PC lying in a cupboard somewhere, but we know that it will also happen in 2023. We will do what we can and help ensure that our customers make environmentally friendly choices.

Certifications contribute to understanding

We work every day to be an environmentally friendly supplier. Environmental management is therefore an important part of our management system. This means that we work to ensure that both our internal goals, external requirements and expectations and set laws and regulations within the environment are taken care of. Having ISO 14001 Environmental Management certification means that we have an effective system for controlling our environmental impact. It also means that we actively work to reduce our environmental impact. They must go down to a minimum.

What does it mean for you if you choose us as your IT supplier?

Choosing us will mean a greener IT everyday life. Yes, we know. Many people throw the word around every day, but we have a certification and a standard for how we work with the environment Braathe.
