Many people are starting to get very driven to give a presentation on Teams, take the interviews digitally or maybe have an oral exam on Teams? Regardless, we will share our best tips for you who have not done so often, or who need an update on the latest in the digital meeting platform.

Before the meeting starts

Let us first consider some good driving rules before the presentation is to be held. First out is your camera angle. Is it, as with many others, a little lower and more laid back than it can be? We like, especially during a presentation, to look good. That's why we build up the PC a bit. You may have seen it before? Take a look at the bottom of the article and we'll show you how.

Then there is the sound. It's no secret that an office chair is one of the most important things about Teams. Here is our clearest recommendation to use earplugs in different formats, or headphones with or without a microphone. Don't you have it? Maybe a reasonable purchase of some classic earplugs is appropriate? It lifts the sound to a very large extent and removes background noise that Teams do not always manage. We also recommend a test with a colleague or Teams friend before you have the big dress rehearsal.

Now you are not that far away before the presentation can start. So then the question is: What powerpoint file was it left? We recommend that you double-check before you join Teams and the presentation will start. Locate the file, open it, or place it on the desktop of your PC ready for viewing.

Our favorite tools in Teams

There are many features in Teams that you can actively use in your presentation. We like the feature that allows your audience to browse your presentation while you give it. This allows them to take notes at their own pace and is perfect if the theme is of the heavier format.

In addition, one of our favorites, if you do not use powerpoint during parts of the presentation, is to put your audience in "together mode" or as Microsoft itself calls it, "together mode". Then you get everyone who divides video into one hall. It can increase the feeling of working together and make it easier for you to read body language and reactions while talking.

Another favorite with us is the Teams background tool. Many people sit in slightly different places and it is not always fun to share what is behind you. Teams solves this by giving you several alternative backgrounds with everything from classic office to photo you upload yourself. Also "blurring" of your background can be used. The most important thing here is that your background does not steal attention away from you!

How to present the best possible

Let's get started! Read up on our best tips. We hope they will make your Teams experience the best it can be. Our best tips are:

- Look into the camera when you present! Do not follow your own photo. Feel free to look at your own presentation or the audience to create an experience that you are not that far apart.

- Love to use your body during presentations? How about setting your screen a little further away? Then you can move more freely at the same time as the camera captures it. Handsome for the audience and handsome for you. Also remember that many people are more comfortable standing during presentations. You can do the same. Just take "build your PC" to new heights!

- Engage the audience! Do you have issues or exciting thoughts to present? Can you challenge, activate and engage the audience along the way thanks to it? It is easy to fall into the trap and become a passive spectator for others. This can be an important step to avoid!

- Challenge all your spectators to wear the camera! Then the meeting feels more alive, you can get feedback along the way and remember that many rarely manage to become a passive spectator with the camera on.

- Be yourself! Many may feel that in Teams meetings we need to be more "corporate" and serious. The meeting shall only contain what the meeting schedule dictates. It does not have to be this way. Be yourself in it all, make a joke and invite to conversations. The best ideas often come when people relax more. You can create such an arena and feeling by being yourself.
